Virtual Baby Shower provides a platform for expecting parents where they can access a dedicated content management system with baby showers in mind. Here they will be able to decide who can see the website, by invitation or leaving it open to the public. Hosts can share content, and photos to keep family, friends and loved ones up to date about their pregnancy journey.
Getting a website online is meant to be quick and easy. Less emphasis towards design, more towards the content. This is meant to support parents in sharing their pregnancy journey.
Users wanted an easy method of adding, editing, and removing information from select areas of the webpages.
Key tasks were important to be able to have on the website such as, e-invites, gallery, guest book, and sharing posts with friends and family.
Keeping data private and secure was important, in some cases to keep it off social media and in other cases to have one unique location for sharing.
Parents wanted to be able to pick from different styles of artwork, or colours rather than design the page from scratch.
The website is scoped to only three pages (home, gallery, guestbook), game page and two additional pages for sharing links (gift registry and chats).
Users can share posts, add images and important relevant links for gift registries and virtual meetups. depending on how users want to use the website, they can enable guest posts and games (can further select which games or add their own quizzes).
When turned on, this function provides users a way to require users visiting the website to sign in. Only if they are on the approved list will they be granted access.
Inside the content management system users can swap themes and fonts. This allows for a more simplistic method of modifying the style of their website.
